A week in review

Hello there.  If you don't know yet....I took a week away from facebook and twitter to attempt to focus on something creative. Facebook & Twitter seem to be quite the time suck. haha! I did a ton of research and found a fun project that I will be working on. I kinda don't want to say what it is quite yet, because it seems that everything I seem to talk about never ever gets done and that just becomes kinda lame to the MAX! Soooo....for now it's gonna be a little hush hush. ;)

In other news....I am officially a red-head again! I have a problem. Luckily Jennie was there to trim the dead ends off my hair do I don't look like a total frizzball. <3

On monday I went to see The Rocket Summer play! It was A M A Z I N G !
I know that some folks find his music a lil "cheesy" but Bryce Avary is pretty much a rockstar.
I had such a great time!!
What was also really amazing is that Bryce took a non profit organization called
on tour with him and they are wonderful.
Their mission is this:
Hello Somebody is a non profit brand that exists to bring positive world-wide change through the love, passion and creativity of common people. Initially, the goal of HS is to provide food for 1 million starving people in a calendar year.
Our goals also include drilling water wells for those who are prone to water born disease, launching rescue efforts to young people trapped in human slavery and to bring hope through the kindness and action of young passionate people. In our first attempt at ending hunger, we were able to provide 50,000 meals to homeless and desperate Haitians.
This has provided a platform to feed the masses world-wide. If you will join us in our fight, together we could save lives and positively impact this amazing world. The call of the hopeless and hungry is out there. Will you help us answer it? Hello Somebody… Are you out there?
amazing.
please please please check it out! also.... do yourself a favor and listen to The Rocket Summer sometime today. <3

Donald Miller was writing to me today....

One of my favorite authors goes by the name of Donald Miller. (his blog :]) Today he posted a great post about THE FEAR OF DOING.  It's like he was writing about me. EEK! it went a little something like this......

Today I read an article on a blog about a creative project, and how some people liked it and some people didn’t, and I kept wondering, when I was reading the comments from people who didn’t like it, why their response was to comment about not liking it rather than to create something better. Nobody stands around a negative comment and talks about how great it is, or how well it’s written, or how it’s going to change the world.
But then I also understand why people do and say such things. It’s hard to create things. It takes confidence and resources, two things that don’t come easily or naturally. And also, there is an appropriate season for finding our identities, for trying on movies and bands like clothes in an attempt to figure out who we are.
Perhaps we should not put our energy into criticism, we should accept the challenge to squash what we do not like by creating something better. And when we have done so, we will realize how hard it was to create the thing we dismissed so easily.
Sooner or later, though, we have to create. We have to go and make something with the collected likes and dislikes we’ve assembled, we have to turn them into stories and songs, into families and gardens, into companies and churches.
These things start small, though, just a kid rolling a tiny pile of snow into a ball until it gets so big somebody gets interested and wants to help him, after which the ball gets larger and larger, and then others get motivated by what they are seeing and bring out sticks and lumps of coal and a tophat and a scarf.
But then again, snowmen are stupid. They just melt. Why try.

so Mr. Miller.....you have a point. SO.....if you are one of my few readers so far....KICK MY BUTT if you don't see me DOING!

thanks!
